Stone of Destiny Pipe Band Takes first in Rhode Island

Yesterday, Enfield's own pipe band, the Stone of Destiny took the field against six other bands in Rhode Island. After a day of torrential rains, the band took the field against five other bands under a sunny Rhode Island sky. The rest of the bands (from throughout New England) were no match for SoD. The band has been working hard and it has paid off with two first place finishes this season. Although the band is only in it's second season of competition they are quickly becoming contenders in the EUSPBA (Eastern United States Pipe Band Assn.). The band is planning it's first trip to Scotland to compete in the World Pipe band Championship in 2015. The band's next competition will be at the Glasgow Lands Scottish Games at Look Park (Northampton, MA) on July 20th. Please come out and support the band.
