Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of Enfield Man

Robert Kegler, 61, was riding on Maple Street in Ellington when he was involved in a three vehicle accident.

A little before 9 p.m. on Sunday, a 61-year-old Enfield man was involved in a three vehicle crash and was later pronounced dead. According to Connecticut State Police, Robert Kegler, of 67 Weymouth School Rd., was traveling eastbound on Maple Street when his motorcycle made contact with two other vehicles. Kegler was taken to St. Francis Hospital via LifeStar helicopter where he later died. A van being driven by a 23-year-old Enfield woman was traveling westbound on Maple Street, approaching the intersection with Tomoka Avenue and Jobs Hill Road. ID Card Helps Enfield Police Nab Two Burglary Suspects

Damon Pisarski and Lawrence Pace were arraigned Thursday on burglary, larceny and narcotics charges.

An abandoned identification card helped lead Enfield police to a pair of burglary suspects Wednesday afternoon. The scenario began unfolding at 2:48 p.m., when a resident reported seeing a suspicious person on Howard Street. The resident then found a discarded backpack in the roadway on the corner of Howard and Pierce streets, Lt. William Zaczynski said. When the witness picked up the backpack, she found a Connecticut Department of Corrections inmate picture ID card of Damon Pisarski, which matched the person she saw. She then reported seeing a man carrying a large duffel bag out of a home on Pierce Street, and watched him get into a waiting blue van, Zaczynski said. Motorcyclist Killed In Accident

Police say an Enfield man lost control of his motorcycle near the intersection of Shaker Road and North Maple Street.

An Enfield man was killed Sunday when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed near the intersection of Shaker Road and North Maple Street, police say. Paul Canello, 72, of 37 Oakwood Street, was traveling east on Shaker Road shortly before 11:30 a.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle while proceeding through the North Maple Street intersection, according to a police report. The motorcycle went off the right side of the roadway, and Canello was ejected from the bike. Report: Woman Violated Protective Order

An Enfield woman has been charged in a Vernon incident.

An Enfield woman stands accused of violating a protective order after an incident in Vernon on Thursday afternoon, according to an arrest report. Vernon police were dispatched to 75 Orchard St. at 3 p.m. on Thursday for a domestic dispute. Kathleen Hlobik, 50, of 59 Church St., Enfield, was found on the property in violation of a court order, according to an arrest report. In addition to the protective order charge, she was also charged with first-degree criminal trespass, police said.
