In this time of grief,
We pray the Lord will be to you
The comfort that…Read More you need
And when you have no answers
To all the questions ’why’,
Know that God is in control
And is there by your side
He understands the way you feel
And knows the loss you face,
So rest in His eternal love,

Unfortunately Jack I cannot vote, nor voice my concerns in the district because I do not live in the…Read More district any longer. I do have an idea of the call volume, I guess my questions were more or less to help motivate those who view this site but aren't sure where to start. Do I believe the call volume is there? No, same feelings I have in the Enfield, Shaker Pines, and even the North Thompsonville district where I currently reside. As far as the work load on the night time shifts that's up to the officer and I haven't worked one in quite awhile due to my full time employment. I'm not concerned about the coverage in the HFD district, you guys do a awesome job during the day as well as night therefore I don't see the need for the change. I volunteer for Shaker Pines because of the leadership and morale of the department, I am in on way stating it is any better then any other department, but I am very happy where the department is, and where it is going. I want what is best for the residents of the town just as much as you and anyone else.

Very interesting questions Rob. First, have you gone down to the Hazardville Station to ask any of…Read More these questions? I believe you might know where it is. Second, being that you are a dispatcher for the Town of Enfield, who dispatches the Fire Departments in Town, you would have an idea of what the call volume is. Third, as a Firefighter for the Shaker Pines Fire Department, what is it you do when you work an evening shift there? I believe they have day shift guys there also. If you are concerned with the coverage in the Hazardville District, why don't you volunteer there instead of Shaker Pines? I may be wrong but don't you live in the Hazardville District? Why volunteer in Shaker Pines? Please become an informed voter and stop by 385 Hazard Ave and ask your questions there. Then vote how you want, but use facts and vote with your own mind, not what other people what you to do.

Where is the need to have full time coverage? Where is the call volume to justify the combination…Read More need? What is it that the career guys that are going to be working later then 4-5pm going to be doing, that the day shift guys are not?
