John F. Kennedy Middle School, named after the 35th president of the United States, opened in the late 1960s, and became the town's sole middle school in 1982. The school's mission is to provide a secure, nurturing and academically challenging environment, and prepare students to become productive and responsible citizens and lifelong learners. As of Sept. 2011, the school houses grades 6 through 8. Tim Van Tasel is the school's principal.
