LETTER: Thanks For Helping With the Cost of Freedom Walk

A letter of thanks from American Warrior founder Christopher Coutu.

As the founder of American Warrior (www.AmericanWarrior.us), I wanted to take a moment to thank the many volunteers from the Enfield community that assisted in the inaugural “Cost of Freedom Walk” to benefit AW this past June 8th. This one day event raised $2,100, allowing us to send ten World War II and Korean War veterans to Washington, D.C. for their day of honor.

Among many, many others, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank the following volunteers:  Enfield Fire Department, Thompsonville Fire Department, the Cultural Arts Committee members, Patrick Droney, Kristine Mele, Enfield Police Department, JFK Middle School and its student body and choir, Parkman Elementary School, Enfield Street School PTO, Nathan Hale School PTO, Fermi High School NHS, Girl Scout Troop 10630, Shoprite of Enfield, Stop and Shop of Enfield, Shoprite of Manchester, Target, Bosco’s Automotive, Cub Scout Troop 108, Smyth Bus, Enfield Dial-a-Ride, Jonathan Worley, Trend2000 Real Estate, Lia Honda of Enfield, Gale Toyota of Enfield, the Enfield Elks Club Lodge 2222, Danny’s Pizza, the CT National Guard, the Country Diner, Jill Osborn, Gary Hamilton, Sue Rochette, Jenna Crawford, Ray and Shirleen Peabody, Ronald Zadanis, Fred Hall, Joe Jedynak, Lori Gates, Ruben Garcia, and special thanks to WWII/Korean War Veteran Ernie Maynard. There are many others who volunteered their time and resources, as well as many donors within the Enfield community, that made this event a success.

Thank you, Enfield, for your generosity and your patriotism. We look forward to watching this event grow over the coming years.
