Bob Boozang Remembered For Volunteer Efforts
Key figure in Home Front Program honored posthumously for his work with needy residents.
In 1997, St. Patrick Church in Enfield found that a number of low income, elderly, and handicapped homeowners needed assistance in making home repairs. Bob Boozang stepped forward and organized a group of volunteers to help these homeowners.
Bob spent countless hours recruiting over 100 contractors and individuals to help revitalize these homes. Over the next 15 years, thanks to Bob's efforts, and the volunteers that Bob recruited, forty-two Enfield homeowners now live in homes that are more livable.
In Mayor Scott Kaupin's proclamation, it is said that "the greatest testament to Bob's 'Service Before Self' is that his legacy lives on. The St. Patrick's Church Home Front Committee and the Home Front Program are now preparing to fix up four homes in keeping with their motto, "Warm, Safe, and Dry".
