Tens of thousands of visitors converged upon the Enfield Town Green this past weekend for the annual 4th of July Town Celebration.

The three-day event included the Taste of Enfield, , a , a craft fair, athletic competitions and fun activities for the entire family.

The weekend culminated with a stirring performance by the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

"The Fourth of July Town Celebration was a tremendous success this weekend," committee chairman Scott Kaupin said Monday morning. "Large crowds enjoyed the wide variety of concerts and events throughout the weekend, and the initial feedback from our Taste of Enfield vendors is very positive. The fireworks display by Zambelli Internationale was simply amazing, and the perfect way to end a very successful Celebration."

Kaupin said the enormous task of cleaning up the green would begin Monday morning. "Then after some well-deserved rest and relaxation, the committee will begin planning for the 2013 Celebration," he said.

The fest was awesome! Fireworks were spectacular! Though I'm not crazy about heavy metal it was still nice to get out and enjoy the outdoors and friends. Thank u town of Enfield for giving us an opportunity to enjoy a wonderful holiday weekend.
