Enfield’s Piepul Inducted into Hall of Fame

The Enfield native, and former All-American Notre Dame football player and member of the Detroit Lions, was recently honored by American International College for contributions to the athletic department.

Enfield native Milton J. Piepul was posthumously inducted into the American International College (Springfield, Mass.)  Athletic Hall of Fame during the school’s recent homecoming weekend festivities.

Piepul is described by AIC representatives as “the architect of the modern athletic department at AIC,” having built the department while serving as the school’s head football coach.

Piepul served as head coach on the gridiron for five years, recording a .578 win percentage, including a school-record of eight consecutive wins (the record stood until 1999), and being named New England Coach of the Year by the New England Football Writers.
