Enfield's Trachone Preston, a freshman basketball player at Eastern Connecticut State University, was recently named Eastern Connecticut's Male Rookie-of-the-Year.
Preston, a guard, ranked second in the conference among freshmen in scoring average, was second overall in three-point field goal percentage, tied for seventh in assists, seventh in free throw percentage, and led all Little East rookies in a total of three statistical categories, according to the university.
He is the son of Lashanda and William Preston of Enfield.
