Nineteen In a Row For Enfield

Raiders clinch NCCC title with 61-33 win at Stafford.

Paul Lima had 14 points, all in the first half, and Enfield broke open a one-point game with a 15-0 run en route to a 61-33 victory at Stafford in NCCC boys basketball action Friday night.

A 19-6 second quarter gave the Raiders a 37-19 halftime lead, and they never looked back in posting their 19th consecutive win. Enfield clinched the NCCC regular season championship with the victory.

Stafford closed to within 14-13 late in the first quarter, but went scoreless for the next 5:20 as Enfield made its run.

"I told the guys at the beginning of the game that it's their Senior Night, they're going to be fired up, they're going to be extra aggressive, just be ready for it and withstand it," Enfield head coach Cory O'Connell said.

Nine different Raiders scored in the contest, as O'Connell rested his starters for the majority of the second half.

Trachone Preston had 10 points to join Lima in double figures. Sal Spadaro played well off the bench, scoring nine points, including a pair of three-pointers.

Zach Rollins was the only Bulldog in double figures, recording a game-high 16 points.

Enfield (19-0) looks to cap a perfect regular season Wednesday, when it hosts Windsor Locks on Senior Night at 7 p.m. Stafford (8-10) travels to Stamford Academy Monday at 6 p.m.
