Fermi Girls Shut Out Bloomfield, 5-0

Falcons do not allow a single shot on goal in blanking Warhawks.

Stephanie Wence scored three goals and the stingy Fermi defense did not allow Bloomfield a shot on goal as the Falcons posted a 5-0 victory in CCC East girls soccer action Tuesday in Enfield.

Alyssa Caplette scored the only goal the Falcons would need nearly 30 minutes into the game, knocking home the rebound of an Andrea Colca shot off the goal post.

Wence scored her first two goals in the final seven minutes of the first half, giving Fermi a 3-0 lead at intermission.

Ashley Kennedy scored near the midway point of the second half, then Wence completed her hat trick with 5:26 to play.

"It was a hard-hitting game, but we played right through it," Fermi head coach Bob Evans said.
