Fermi Cross Country Teams Split Three-Way Meet

The depth of the E.O. Smith cross country teams was evident Tuesday in a three-way meet in Enfield.

The girls took eight of the top ten spots, while the boys countered with nine of ten places as the Panthers swept past Hartford Public and Fermi on a rainy afternoon at Powder Hollow Park.

Miranda Cilfone won the girls' race in 19:37, while Alyssa Coulter, Andrea Ricci and Michela Martin finished in the top five. Katie Saltzgiver led Fermi with a third-place finish.

Nathaniel Picard-Buskey captured the boys' run in 16:47, as E.O. Smith placed the first eight runners across the finish line. Robbie Macon-Wells was ninth to lead the Falcons.

E.O. Smith will compete Saturday in the Woods Trail Run in Thetford, VT. Fermi is running in the Wickham Invitational in Manchester Saturday, while Hartford Public is back in action Tuesday, Oct. 9 in Bloomfield.
