Enfield Girls Turn Back East Granby, 3-1

Raiders improve to 2-0 with home victory Friday.

Three different players scored goals as Enfield won its second straight game under first-year head coach Ashley Hurley, a 3-1 victory over East Granby in NCCC girls soccer action Friday afternoon.

Sierra Trzepacz scored the lone goal of the first half, beating Crusaders goalkeeper Brittany Duplin with 14:58 to play.

Less than ten minutes into the second half, Olivia Caronna scored on a breakaway to give the Raiders a 2-0 lead. East Granby came right back, as Sam Daleb beat Enfield goalkeeper Sydney Ballou to cut the deficit in half.

Just 1:47 after Daleb's goal, Kaylee Polmatier booted home a high shot from 30 yards out to restore Enfield's two-goal advantage.

"We played as a cohesive unit, our one touches were fantastic and our defense played great," Hurley said.

Enfield (2-0) hosts SMSA Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. East Granby (0-2) play host to Canton Tuesday at 3:45 p.m.
