Nine different skaters made the scoresheet as Fermi-Enfield scored twice in each period in a 6-1 win over Wethersfield in CCC hockey action Saturday at the .
Avery Boissy scored two goals, and Nick Varner and Nick Ferracci each had three-point afternoons for Fermi-Enfield, which won its second straight game to move back above .500 (7-6).
"We had contributions from everybody," Fermi-Enfield head coach Frank Genovese said. "All three lines had a hand in the win, which is really ideal. Hopefully we're hitting our stride."
Special teams were a big factor in the victory, as the winners scored twice on the power play and once shorthanded.
"The power play is really coming along," Genovese said. "We have a lot of people that are not just sitting around right now. Everyone is working very hard, which bodes well for us down the road."
Wethersfield played well in the opening period, holding the hosts scoreless until Ryan Sayers broke the ice with 3:01 remaining. Boissy scored his first goal on a power play a minute and a half later, which proved to be the eventual game-winner.
Sam Kelly scored on another power play nine minutes into the second period, but Pat Dowd got one right back for the Eagles just over a minute later. Fermi-Enfield's Evan Boissy reclaimed the three goal margin during a four-minute Wethersfield power play with 1:55 left before the second intermission.
Avery Boissy netted his second goal early in the third period, and Varner capped the scoring in the final three minutes.
Fermi-Enfield more than doubled Wethersfield's shot output, 31-15.
The co-op team has a week off before hosting Notre Dame-Fairfield Feb. 4 at 2:40 p.m. Wethersfield (4-5) takes on Northwest Catholic Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
