What's Open and Closed On Presidents Day

Monday, Feb. 20, is a holiday for Enfield town government, post offices and public schools.

Today, Monday, Feb. 20, is Presidents Day, a federal and state holiday.

Government services and municipal buildings in Enfield are closed for the day. The Enfield Town Council, which normally meets the third Monday of each month, will hold its meeting Tuesday, Feb. 21.

Town libraries and U.S. post offices are closed, and trash collection will be delayed one day.

Schools are closed for the holiday, but a pair of high school sporting events are scheduled. Fermi-Enfield hockey hosts Amity at 1 p.m. at the Enfield Twin Rinks, while Fermi boys basketball travels to Rockville at 7 p.m. Students will also not have classes Tuesday, as the town school department takes a brief mini-vacation.

Most commercial businesses in the area are open on Presidents Day, but some may be closed due to the holiday. Liquor stores are allowed to open and operate Monday.
