I am so disgusted.... where on earth are the emergency shelters for the elderly? I have been trying to get any info since 7am and here it is almost noon and no one has decided if there are shelters in Enfield actually opening...

That's good news Tom ........... 7-11 in East Windsor is selling them at $5.00+ for 2 batteries. Nothing like taking advantage of people.........

Good question Cassie..... Can't you help with this Patch?
Wavs October 29, 2012 at 04:55 PM
Found it in another aritcle on Patch: Mayor Scott Kaupin said the Kennedy Middle School shelter is being set up today in case of need, and the Department of Public Works was out all weekend checking storm drains and typical flood areas. "We feel we're in good shape," Kaupin said.

In case of need.... I just cant believe they want seniors trying to get out to a shelter during the hieght of a storm. Kaupin, you might be in good shape but many elderly people are not..... they are scared and nothing is being done. These are your townspeople....and nothing is solidified.

Cassie....we were told to dial 211 for shelter information

Enfield sent out emergency notice this morning, JFK open and available. Also all Enfield Fire depts are open for residents to fill water containers.

Open and available for water and to charge electronics. They do not indicate whether in this print or via phoning the school that arrangements have been made for the elderly to go to soon before the storm increases beyond safety.
