Jan. 11: Democrats to Hold Caucus

A library event, local sports and a mixed forecast in today's edition of 5 Things.

1. The Enfield Democratic Town Committee Caucus is scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 820 Enfield St. All registered Democrats are welcome to vote. Interested candidates can be nominated by any registered Democrat from the floor and get on the ballot. 

2. Andy Weil will present "Poetry With a Touch of Midlife Insanity" Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the , 104 Middle Rd. Weil is a small business owner, long-time writer, performance poet, frequent editorial contributor, musician, and certified die-hard cynic.  His writings and topics range from mid-life crisis and old age to computer-addicted, dot-com connected America…and more. Come spend an energetic hour…and laugh, cry, connect, heal, love, remember, and commiserate. 

3. Fermi-Enfield hockey hosts Conard Wednesday at 3:50 p.m. at the , while the Fermi boys and girls indoor track teams are at Bulkeley High School in Hartford at 5:30 p.m.

4. Wednesday will be sunny, with a high temperature near 40, according to the National Weather Service. Wednesday night will see rain and light snow, with a low around 32.
