Gov. Malloy to Speak in Enfield

Asnuntuck Community College will host the "Step Up" Conference for hundreds of area employers Wednesday morning.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy will be in town Wednesday when he attends the "Step Up" Employer Conference.

More than 200 employers will be in attendance to "receive information from state officials about available opportunities that benefit local businesses, such as job expansion tax credits, wage incentives to hire unemployed workers, and tax incentives for equipment purchases," the governor's office announced Tuesday.

Co-sponsored by the Connecticut Department of Labor, the Department of Economic and Community development, Secretary of State Denise Merrill and local legislators, the event is expected to kick off at 8 a.m. at Asnuntuck Community College.

Malloy is expected to address those in attendance at 8:30 a.m.
