Feb. 2: It's Groundhog Day

1. Feb. 2 is Groundhog Day. The largest celebration is in Punxsutawney, PA, featuring Punxsutawney Phil, who was portrayed in the 1993 Bill Murray film Groundhog Day.

2. A special meeting of the Enfield Town Council and Board of Education will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Enfield Room on the lower level of Town Hall, 820 Enfield St. Discussion of the high school consolidation process and possible reuse of the  building is on the agenda.

3. A few tickets are still available for Saturday's , an Enfield resident who recently underwent a heart transplant. Tickets can be ordered by calling 860-798-1252.

4. Thursday will be partly sunny, with a high temperature near 44, according to the National Weather Service. Thursday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 24.
