Fairly Steady Early Turnout at Enfield Primary Polling Places

58th House race between Kathy Tallarita and David Alexander draws town voters.

A steady stream of Enfield voters cast their primary ballots at two polling places as of early afternoon Tuesday.

58th House District opponents Kathy Tallarita and David Alexander both reported a fairly active turnout.

Despite intermittent rain, about 800 voters had cast their ballots at Enfield High School by early afternoon. No estimate was given as to the turnout at Kennedy Middle School.

Republicans are choosing between Paul Formica and Daria Novak to challenge incumbent Democrat Joe Courtney in the Second Congressional District. They are also deciding between Christopher Shays and Linda McMahon for a U.S. Senate nomination.

On the Democratic side, Susan Bysiewicz and Christopher Murphy are contending for the U.S. Senate nomination, in addition to the state House battle between Tallarita and Alexander.
