Ellington, Somers Lawmakers Attend Groundbreaking of Tech Center at ACC

State Sens. John Kissel and Gary LeBeau supported the new welding facility at Asnuntuck Community College in Enfield.

Sen. John A. Kissel, who represents Somers, and state Sen. Gary LeBeau, who represents Ellington, attended the groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday Oct. 31 for the Asnuntuck Community College’s Manufacturing Technology Center. 

The Enfield-based community college is expanding the tech center's welding facility.

The expansion establishes a welding and fabrication facility that will enable the college to expand and diversify its service delivery system to better serve both the student population and the manufacturing sector. The new space will be almost four times the square footage currently available.
