Two Charged in Manchester with Narcotics Possession, Heroin Sale

The East Central Narcotics Task Force charged a local man and another from Whethersfield with various drug-related offenses, including running a drug factory.

The following is a press release provided by the East Central Narcotics Task Force:

On Monday at about 5:30 p.m., the East Central Narcotics Task Force was conducting a surveillance/apprehension operation in the parking lot of Big Y Supermarket on Tolland Turnpike in Manchester.

Task force members received information that a Hispanic male using the street name of “Lucky” was going to arrive in the lot to sell heroin. Task force members set up surveillance, and detained “Lucky” when he arrived in the parking lot in a Toyota Camry. “Lucky” was identified as Jimmy Lassus after he was detained. Task force members seized 185 bags of heroin, marijuana, $453 in cash and other drug paraphernalia. The driver of the Camry, identified as Luis Rivera, was also arrested.   

Lassus and Rivera have a long criminal history in Connecticut including arrests for sale of narcotics, according to police.

Name: Jimmy Lassus, 28 years old

Address: 134 Wolcott Hill Rd., Wethersfield

Charges:   

  • Possession of Heroin
  • Possession of Heroin with Intent to Sell
  • Operating a Drug Factory
  • Conspiracy/Sale of Heroin
  • Criminal Attempt/Sale of Heroin
  • Possession of less than ½ Ounce of Marijuana

Bond: $150,000 surety bond.  

 

Name: Luis Rivera, 28 years old

Address: 66 Pascal Lane, Manchester

Charges:   

  • Possession of Heroin
  • Possession of Heroin with Intent to Sell
  • Operating a Drug Factory
  • Conspiracy/Sale of Heroin
  • Criminal Attempt/Sale of Heroin
  • Possession of less than ½ Ounce of Marijuana

Bond: $50,000 surety bond.  

The East Central Narcotics Task Force, in cooperation with other municipal, and federal law enforcement agencies, is interested in stopping illegal narcotics sales and use in the Manchester, South Windsor, and Glastonbury communities.
