Easy arrest for police.

If there is one place you don’t want to be caught breaking the law, it’s in a courthouse.

But Darren Shelley, 22, threw caution to the wind when he went to a meeting with his probation officer in Stamford on Monday. While the men were talking in the courthouse basement, his PO began to smell a familiar and illegal odor, the Stamford Advocate reports.

State troopers were called, and they allegedly found 19 bags of weed in Shelley’s pockets. This is not the first time Shelley’s penchant for carrying marijuana has landed him in hot water.

Last August he pleaded guilty to marijuana possession. He also pleaded guilty to risk of injury to a child and as part of his sentence was given a two-year and three- month suspended sentence. After being busted again Monday, he may have to serve part or all of this suspended sentence, the Stamford Advocate reports.

Assuming that all 19 bags weren’t for personal use, the police charged Shelley, of 200 Block of Selleck St., with illegal sale of a controlled substance and held him in lieu of a $5,000 court appearance bond. His arraignment will take place on June 23 at the very same Stamford courthouse.

The article isn't about whether pot should be legal or not. It is about how a moron takes what is still ILLEGAL into meet with his probation officer. And maybe since he had 19 bags on him at the time, likely to not only be in control of illegal substance but intending to sell it Two laws broken. So guessing the stuff make this guy and Agranon unable to comprehend the simple things in life. Note only saying that about these two. To make it more simple for you Agranon it is not an article about whether pot is as or is not as dangerous as other substances. There is a way to go about making that argument but you probably don't want the argument to make the case for the other side. I am not for or against pot necessarily and maybe you would have a comprehension problem with or without it. Your comments about "scum cops" is just stupid

hey, bottom line is, tobacco and alcohol are deadly, as well as prescription drugs, and marijuana is safer than eating peanuts. grow up people and have some civilty

even so, don't bring your stash to a meeting with your PO! those people are humourless, and looking to feather their caps with as many busts as possible. I can't say I've ever been to one, but I know some folks who have, and the stories are the same, "always try trying to violate me", it's like a sport for these cretins. save yourself a lot of wear and tear on your hide, get through probation, and skip into the sunset, like audi murphy didn't lol
