Connecticut State Police are forming a special team dedicated to finding missing people, according to the New Haven Register.
The team, which will reportedly feature investigators from key departments in the force, expects to help local police when needed.
One of the most high profile missing person case happened last year. Emergency responders from across the state were galvanized in the search for a missing Orange teen. The girl, who ran away from home, and the search attracted national media attention.
Sgt. James Thomas told the Register that State Police are “proactive in the enhancement and prioritizing of missing person investigations.”
