The van reportedly struck a tree after swerving to avoid a pedestrian.

Four elementary-aged CREC students were transported to Bay State Medical Center in Springfield Wednesday afternoon when their school van crashed into a tree in Enfield, multiple news outlets are reporting.

Their injuries consisted of cuts and bruises, while one student reportedly lost consciousness, according to NBC Connecticut. The accident took place at about 4 p.m. on Moody Road — and resulted in the road's closure while emergency crews were on scene, WFSB reported.
