An Enfield man is facing manslaughter charges in relation to the death of Nicolas "Nico" Filippa.

Manslaughter charges have been filed against the man whose motorcycle allegedly struck and killed 11-year-old Nicolas "Nico" Filippa, of Enfield.

Brian A. Dolloff, 29, also of Enfield, turned himself in to police Monday on a charge of second-degree manslaughter in relation to the crash on Broad Brook Road on Sept. 25, 2013, according to a report by NBC Connecticut.

Police said Filippa was riding his bicycle at 7:05 p.m. when he was hit by the motorcycle. He was transported to Bay State Medical Center before being flown to Connecticut Children's Hospital by Life Star, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Filippa was a student in the 6th grade at JFK Middle School, where he was a member of the PAWS Club, according to his obituary.
