Police: Enfield Man Forced Way into Home, Assaulted Victim

By Ted Glanzer

An Enfield man is facing numerous charges after he allegedly forced his way into the South Windsor home of an acquaintance and inappropriately touched the victim on Tuesday.

Christopher Silva, 33, was charged with burglary in the first degree, assault in the third degree, sexual assault in the fourth degree, breach of peace, and operating a motor vehicle under suspension. He was held on a $225,000 surety bond and was presented at Manchester Superior Court later on Wednesday morning.

Silva allegedly forced his way into a Northview Drive home, engaged in an argument with the female resident whom he knew and then inappropriately touched her, according to police.

Silva left the home and the victim contacted the police department, police spokesman Sgt. Scott Custer said in an email. Enfield Police officers later attempted to locate and detain Silva in Enfield but he fled on foot and was not immediately located.
