Former Fermi Teacher Scheduled for Sentencing

Tyler Wells was arrested in July 2012, accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student at Enfield's Fermi High School.

A judge's ruling is scheduled for Thurs., Aug. 22 in the case against former Fermi High School social studies teacher Tyler Wells.

Wells was arrested in July of 2012 and charged with four counts of sexual assault involving an allegedly inappropriate relationship with a student.

Wells, who pleaded not guilty, was denied a request to receive probation and have his record wiped clean in the event of a guilty verdict and subsequent good behavior.

According to court documents, Judge Howard Scheinblum denied the request on the grounds that the "case was deemed too serious."
