A car allegedly drove into a Till Street house early Saturday morning, but the driver fled the scene, police said.
Police received a call at 3:38 a.m. after the incident at 79 Till Street, in the Whitacres section of northern Enfield.
"Apparently a car slammed into the house, moving it off its foundation, and the operator fled the scene," Sgt. Matt Meier said. "That is about all we know, and the case is still under investigation."
Dispatch records show the North Thompsonville Fire Department was called to the scene to clear hazardous materials. A stolen vehicle report was also filed, but no further information was available.
On Monday afternoon, a large blue tarp was seen covering much of the north side of the house, which is located at the corner of Till Street and Alban Road.
