Enfield Men Graduate as New State Troopers

Two Enfield men recently graduated as a part of the Connecticut State Troopers' 123rd training troop, and will begin service at Troop C.

The Connecticut State Police recently graduated 83 new state troopers, including two Enfield residents.

The two graduates, Jesse D. Benoit and Kyle M. Kaelberer, were both assigned to Troop C in the academy's 123rd training troop.

A ceremony was held at UConn's Jorgensen Auditorium, featuring keynote speaker Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.

According to state police, this year's class underwent more than a year of training, including physical conditioning, water rescue, driving and other specialized areas of police work.

In addition to the two Enfield graduates, the 123rd training troop includes graduates from eight states. Twenty graduates have military experience; 26 have prior law enforcement experience; 43 have bachelor degrees; 10 have graduate degrees and 85 percent of the class left higher paying jobs to serve as Connecticut State Troopers.

Troop C received a total of seven new troopers after graduation assignments.
