Enfield Business Accused of Illegal Gambling

Arrests are anticipated after a state police task force executed a search warrant at the business.

An investigation into suspected illegal gambling touched down in Enfield Tuesday when a state police task force executed a search warrant at Mousepad Business Center & Tech Solutions.

According to a press release from Connecticut State Police, a "Sweepstakes" contest offered at the Internet cafe appears to be in violation of Connecticut General Statutes concerning professional gambling and possession of gambling devices.

Mousepad offers a “Sweepstakes” contest in which the purchase of a telephone calling card or Internet time by a customer entitles the customer entry into the “Sweepstakes,” police said.
