What Is Proper Holiday-Light Etiquette? [With Poll]

Is it OK to leave lights up until Easter?

The wrapping paper's been trashed, the New Year has been rung in, trees have begun to appear by the curb, but holiday lights and decorations, lit up or not, remain strung on many home facades across Enfield.

For some, taking down the lights is a must as soon as New Year's Day passes, but there are always the few houses that will have their decorations up through Easter Sunday, and then some who just leave them up until the following holiday season when they will flip the switch and turn them on again.

Is there proper holiday-light etiquette that should be followed? How about a deadline for when decorations should come down?

my choice would be if they are on the house to light them up every night... who made up the rule you can only decorate during December? I tthink they look worse if you don't light them up.
