Littering Problem

I don't understand how people can just drop their garbage anywhere.

This was taken on the Connecticut River bank today off of Parsons Road.

We see it all the time, living on Old County Rd in W.Locks!! mcDonald's bags, styrofoam containers...do people NOT believe in trash receptacles, anymore?

The biggest problem I see in Enfield is the Reminder and the Hartford Courant being thrown all over people's lawns by the delivery drivers. I wish there was a town ordinance against this. Obviously, no one wants to read them because no one even bothers to pick them up. In this digital age, we really don't need unwanted newspaper garbage thrown all over the neighborhood. If the employees of the Hartford Courant and the Reminder don't have the pride and good manners to deliver to people's doorstep, they shouldn't bother showing up to work. Throwing the paper on the ground, especially when it's raining, is half a$$.

In E. Hartford there's a ordinance for throwing anything out the window in including news papers which have a place for them to be delivered. In most cases the delivery person is in a hurry and time is money. The big ticket for this person is a $25.00 fine for each item tossed out the window. Staff at the reminder don't care the paper is free. The reminder should be fined for every paper that hits the ground from the delivery person. From unsightly trash.
