Obituary: Richard L. Santy

He was born and educated in Bristol, a son of the late Michael J. and Theresa M. (Barrea) Santy, and was a graduate of Bristol High School.


Richard L. Santy, 76, a resident of Enfield for over forty years, died early this morning, February 7, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born and educated in Bristol, a son of the late Michael J. and Theresa M. (Barrea) Santy, and was a graduate of Bristol High School. Richard was employed for many years with records and forms department of Traveler’s Insurance Company from which he retired.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Edith (Lazzaro) Santy and his loving son, Michael G. Santy both of Enfield; his brother, Thomas M. Santy and his wife Lea of Windsor; two nephews and a niece, Stephen, Matthew and Lisa Santy; as well as several grand nieces and grand nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Anthony E. Santy who died in 1995.

His funeral will be held on Friday, February 10th at 8:00 a.m. from the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Church, 379 Broad St., both in Windsor with Rites of Committal to conclude at Elm Grove Cemetery, Poquonock Ave., in the Poquonock section of Windsor. Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning at the funeral home from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m.
