Obituary: Richard C. Marlow

Dick was a Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #200 in Rocky Hill.

Richard C. Marlow, 70, of Parky Dr., Enfield, died unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at the New Britain General Hospital.

Dick’s wife of 36 years, Cleo (MacPhail) Marlow, predeceased him in 2005. Born in Malone, NY, a son of Ruth (Fountain) Marlow and the late Carl Marlow, he had been a resident of the Enfield community since 1967. He was employed as a supervising programmer for Creed Monarch Co. in New Britain for the past 15 years and had previously been employed as a foreman for Windsor Manufacturing for 23 years. Dick was a Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #200 in Rocky Hill. Family was central to Dick’s life and he especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. An avid sports car enthusiast, he loved driving his Jaguar convertible and he would also look forward to a night of dancing with his companion, Alyce Abbatt.

In addition to his mother, Ruth, of Malone, NY, Dick is survived by his children, Bonnie-Jean Renna and her husband, Robert, Jr., of Enfield and Timothy Erisoty and his wife, Priscilla, of Windsor Locks; four grandchildren, Tyler Renna, Andrew Renna, Peter Erisoty and Richard Erisoty; his companion, Alyce Abbatt of New Britain; two brothers, Charles Marlow and his wife, Brenda, of Malone, NY and Robert Marlow of Canton, NY, a sister, Margaret Ward of FL and several nieces and nephews.

Dick’s family will receive relatives and friends at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield on Wed.(TODAY) from 5 -7 p.m. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 10:00 a.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels. Burial will be at his family’s convenience.
