Obituary: Randall Farrar

Randall “Randy” O. Farrar, of Enfield, passed from his earthly journey at the age of 63 on Sunday (April 14, 2013) in the comfort of his home. Randy was the beloved husband of Patricia (Piorkowski) Farrar, and son of Guy and Norma (Moreside) Farrar of Canton.

He was born Aug. 4, 1949 in Hartford, and had resided in Enfield for over 20 years and in Simsbury prior to that. Randy was a graduate of Simsbury High School Class of 1967. A fan of the Beatles, he had a passion for music and was a talented and gifted musician, having played the guitar for numerous bands in the area, was an avid fisherman, a pilot, enjoyed cooking and adored his four beloved cats. Prior to his retirement, Randy was an electrical consultant for Van Zelm Engineering in Farmington.

Besides his wife and parents, Randy is also survived by a stepson, Corey Tumosa and his wife Sherri of South Windsor; his step-grandson, Parker Tumosa; his two sisters, Joyce Driscoll and her husband Russell Shaw of Simsbury, and Judy Mereschuk and her husband  Jeff of Canton; along with three nephews, a niece, several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Thursday (April 18, 2013) from 4-7 p.m., followed by a Memorial and Remembrance Service officiated by his nephew, Rev. Christopher Mereschuk, at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
