Obituary - Michael "Mickey" Kennedy

Services to be held Friday and Saturday.

Michael E. "Mickey" Kennedy, 57, of Broad Brook, formerly of Enfield, died Tuesday (February 14, 2012) in a tragic automobile accident, in Enfield.

He was born in Harford on August 23, 1954, and had lived in Enfield for twenty-one years, before moving to Broad Brook. Mickey was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a self-employed plumbing contractor for many years. Mickey enjoyed golfing, fishing, was a coach of his son's roller hockey teams and was always welcoming family and friends and would help anyone that needed help.

He is survived by his parents, Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr., and Barbara (McGuire) Kennedy of South Windsor; four brothers, Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. of South Windsor, Timothy J. Kennedy of Broad Brook, Christopher D. Kennedy of South Windsor, and John T. Kennedy and his wife, Susan of Manchester; his former wife Debra L. Kennedy of Colchester; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and friends.

His family will receive friends Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. A religious service will be held at 7 p.m., and an Elks service at 7:15 p.m., at the funeral home. There will be a gathering Saturday at the Elks Lodge, 138 North Maple St., Enfield, beginning at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alberici Scholarship Fund, Enfield Elks, P.O.
