Obituary: L. Louis “Lou” Bellefleur, 81, Formerly of Enfield

L. Louis “Lou” Bellefleur, 81, beloved husband of Ina (Stetson) Bellefleur, of Lebanon, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at William Backus Memorial Hospital, Norwich.

Born in Limestone, Maine on December 11, 1932 son of the late William and Martha (Ouellette) Bellefleur, he had lived in Enfield before moving to Lebanon 10 years ago.

Before retiring he was a self-employed carpenter and mechanic with the ability to fix anything. He earned his private pilot’s license and for many years enjoyed flying his Cessna. He was an avid gardener and loved sharing the bounty of his wonderful vegetable garden with family and friends.

Bellefleur was a NASCAR fan and spent many hours watching the races. He also got great pleasure from watching the many birds and animals that visited the beautiful and peaceful meadow in his backyard.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, Ina, he leaves his children, Sylvia Poole and her husband, George; Louis Bellefleur; Allen Bellefleur and his wife, Tara; and Susan Baker and her husband, Ben; two sisters, Sandra Messier and her husband Bob; and Karolyn Farquhar and her husband Danny.

“Bapa” will be missed by five loving grandchildren, Tina Mastalerz; Michael Mastalerz and his wife, Stephanie; Brent Baker and his partner Bobi-Lee Bomster; Benji Baker and Noelle Bellefleur; and three adoring great grandchildren, Briyana and Braden Baker and Josie Mae Mastalerz and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 12, at 6 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.

Burial will be private. His family will receive friends on Thursday, June 11, from 4 to 6 p.m., prior to the memorial service.
