Obituary: Joan Kennedy Arcouette

She was born and raised in Thompsonville, and raised her family in Hazardville.

Joan Kennedy Arcouette, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving children on Sunday July 28, 2013. She was predeceased by the love of her life and best friend Edward to whom she was married to for 63 years. She was also predeceased by a grandson Kevin Arcouette.

Born and raised in Thompsonville after marring Edward, they moved to Hazardville where she raised her six children. Joan leaves a daughter Mary and five sons Ned & his wife Nancy, John & his wife Beverly, Michael, Timothy & his wife Sharon and Jim & his wife Gayle.

Joan spent her life devoted to her children. She cherished her 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. In addition to her family she leaves behind many special friends.

She enjoyed family gatherings and loved the laughter of her children.

She was a communicant of St. Bernard’s Church. Her family wishes to extend a special thanks to Evergreen Healthcare Ctr. for the wonderful care she received from the devoted staff on the first and second floor. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Bernard’s Church 426 Hazard Ave. Enfield, CT 06082.

Visitation for Joan will be held on Wednesday July 31, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday August 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bernard’s Church, the funeral procession will form at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
