Esther D. Hoskins, 95, of Enfield, passed away Tuesday (May 14, 2013) at Johnson Memorial Medical Center, Stafford Springs with her loving family at her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard K. Hoskins.
Esther was born April 18, 1918 in Hartford, daughter of the late Morris and Sarah (Melsman) Wice, and had resided in Enfield for many years. She retired many years ago from G. Fox & Co. after several years of service. Esther was an avid UConn Huskies basketball fan and enjoyed watching football.
She is survived by her loving children: Marilyn Davis of Enfield, Barbara Schwartz and husband Wayne of Enfield, and Michael Hoskins and wife Sharon of Centreville, VA; her seven beloved grandchildren: Kevin Davis, Dan Davis and wife Jenn, Brian Schwartz and wife Kimberly, David Schwartz, Darren Schwartz and wife Christine, Zachary Hoskins and Robbie Hoskins; eight great-grandchildren: Courtney, Camryn and Tori Davis, William, David, Jr., Hannah, Emily and Adalyn Schwartz, along with her special friend Mickie Manning.
A private graveside service will be held in the Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
