Obituary: Former Enfield School Librarian Elaine Levesque, 75, of Enfield

Elaine Levesque worked with the Wood Group in East Windsor and loved riding bikes with her husband.

Elaine Levesque, age 75 of Enfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Touchpoints at Chestnut in East Windsor.

Born on December 7, 1938 in Richford, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (Racine) Bean. On June 22, 1957, Elaine was united in marriage to her beloved husband of nearly 57 years, Clovis Levesque, and together they relocated to Enfield in 1968 where they became communicants of Holy Family Church.

She was formerly employed as a secretary with the former Gas Turbine and later with the Wood Group in East Windsor. Elaine also was a volunteer school helper, including tutoring and working as a librarian at the Enfield Street School. She loved riding bikes with her husband and together they enjoyed their “Sunday drive around the block."

Her greatest joy was found from spending time with and adoring her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband, Clovis, and their four children, Daniel Levesque and his wife, Alicia, of Murietta, Calif.; David Levesque of Adams, Mass.; Barbara Ward of Phoenixville, Pa.; and Tammy Flasinski and her husband, David, of Enfield; her nine grandchildren, Jeremy Levesque, Sara Durant and her husband, Michael, Alicia Ward, Jeffrey Ward and his wife, Shalee, Brianna, Jenna and Joshua Levesque, and Matthew and Michael Flasinski; her two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Michael Durant; and many other loving family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Ann Levesque; her daughter-in-law, Judy Levesque; her four sisters; and two brothers.

A funeral service for Elaine will be held on Friday, June 13, beginning with a procession at 9 a.m. from Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., to Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., for a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations in Elaine’s name be made to the American Lung Assoc. of CT, 45 Ash St., East Hartford, CT 06108-3272.
