Edward honorably served in the Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany which led to many a story. After the service and college, Ed went to work for the Boy Scouts of America where he met Sally and eventually they moved to Enfield and raised their family.

Edward is survived by his children: a son, Scott Blewett and his wife Pamela of Somers; a daughter, Pamela Sanborn and her husband Lewis of Enfield; and a son, Todd Blewett and his wife Eileen of Killingworth; and by his grandchildren, David and Courtney Blewett of Somers, and Ryan, Lauren, Matthew and Sarah Blewett of Killingworth, who all gave him so much joy. Edward is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Stevens, sister-in-law Helen Blewett, brothers-in-law Bernard Mann and his wife Ruth and David Fitz and his companion Liz Hollingsworth, as well as several nieces, Elizabeth Sullivan, Kimberly Blewett, Alyson Blewett, Heather Fitz and Joanne Davis. Also left to remember Edward are his step-grandchildren, Craig Sanborn and Stacey Dolan with their families, and Edward’s longtime friends from the neighborhood.

A memorial service celebrating Edward’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 383 Hazard Ave., Enfield. The graveside service and burial will be private.
