Pearl Street Library Centennial Celebration – What Would You Place in a Time Capsule?

Date of Program:  Now through March 15, 2014

2014 marks The Pearl Street Branch Library’s 100th Anniversary!  In commemoration of this exciting event, the Pearl Street Library Centennial Anniversary Committee is creating a Time Capsule that will be buried at the Pearl Street Library.

The Committee is looking for suggestions from the community for small scale items that reflect the 21st century, such as smart phones, thumb/flash drives, DVDs, etc.  Please email your suggestions to PearlStreetLibrary100@gmail.com by March 15, 2014.

After the suggestions are collected, residents will have a chance to vote on what they would like to see placed in the capsule.  Ballot boxes will be located at the Enfield Public Library and Pearl Street Branch Library.

If time capsules aren’t your thing but you still want to help celebrate Pearl Street’s anniversary, don’t worry - the Centennial Anniversary Committee have planned numerous events for the exciting year ahead, among them: a birthday party, a town-wide scavenger hunt with a 100 year theme, a marble tournament, a visit from Kandie Karle-the Edwardian Lady, “meet Andrew Carnegie”-with Richard Clark, an outdoor movie, special displays, and much more!  Be on the lookout for event listings via email, press, library signage, and our library web page.
