Visit the Enfield Public Library in September and October for a new Friday Film Series – From Words to Screen!

On Friday, September 6 at 2:00 PM, the Library presents the movie, Safe Haven.  Katie, a newcomer in a small southern town, forms relationships with Alex, a young widower, and Jo, her plainspoken single neighbor, who help her overcome her fearful past in this thrilling romance from Nicholas Sparks.

On Friday, September 13 at 2:00 PM, the Library will show Amour.*  In the final months of her life, a retired music teacher and her husband of sixty years struggle with the debilitating effects of two strokes on both her health and her quality of life.  As Georges cares for the increasingly unhappy Anne, the pair finds the nature of their life together irrevocably changed.

On Friday, September 20 at 2:00 PM, the Library will feature The Great Gatsby.  A would-be writer, Nick Carraway leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz, bootleg kings, and skyrocketing stocks. Chasing his own American dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby. It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves, and deceits.

On Friday, October 4 at 2:00 PM the Library will show the movie Killing Lincoln, a riveting historical narrative of the heart-stopping events surrounding the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, and the first work of history from mega-bestselling author Bill O'Reilly.

On Friday, October 18 at 2:00 PM the Library will feature the film Parker.  Based on the novel "Flashfire" by Richard Stark, when a thief named Parker is left for dead by a group of mobsters, he seeks revenge on those who tried to kill him.

*Amour is not part of the series.  It was on our June schedule, but was released later than initially anticipated.*

No need to register; just come and enjoy the movie on the big screen.  Programs at the Enfield Public Library are free and everyone is welcome. For more information, please call the Library at (860) 763-7512, or visit our website: www.enfieldpubliclibrary.org
