Back to school essential beauty kit

You guys, it’s that time of the year again. Getting ready for school (IknowIknowIknow, yarg!) but OhmyGod I used to LOVE preparing for going back to school. I really did. The weeks before you’d see me with my head in my closet going and hemming and hawing over what I wanted to start my school year wearing. And make-up? Don’t even get me started about my insatiable love for make-up.

Now wait, wait. Before you say: “But we’re just college students! We can’t afford expensive stuff!” let me just say- I’ve got your back, kids. I’ve got your back! I feel your pain. I know where you’re coming from. Yada, yada, yada. You get the drift, right?

What I’m basically trying to tell you is that you don’t have to sell your soul to the devil to buy beauty products that will bring out the fabulousness in you. So without further ado, I shall now proceed to my fabulous list of back to school essentials for the fabulous college student! *clap clap*

1)      You want to invest in a really nice set of brushes. That is the one absolute I give to you today. I’ll tell ya something. NO make-up kit is complete without a set of make-up brushes, so I would recommend looking into a kit that includes some of the essential brushes such as the foundation brush, blush/bronzer brush, eyeshadow brush, blending brush etc. I’d recommend looking into the ELF brush collection priced between $5 and $30.

2)      I’m an absolute fan or lip and cheek tints. There’s something so appealing about blushing cheeks and lips that look like they’ve just been thoroughly kissed that I’d recommend this to be an absolute must-have in your back to school beauty kit. I’d recommend the Liptini Lip Liqueur Lip & Cheek Stain in Maraschino Cherry. It has this beautiful velvety finish that I love and what’s great is that it’s long-lasting and very natural. You can get these for $12.50 and they’re worth every penny because it’s two products in one.

3)      You have to have to have to have mascara. You just have to! And over the years, I’ve seen that the Maybelline New York Full ‘N Soft Washable Mascara priced at a sweet $7.77 is forever going to be my absolute favorite mascara. Its perfect volumizing formula is long-lasting and non-clumpy, making your eyelashes look full and soft and flatteringly long!

4)      A good foundation goes a long way. After all, foundation sets the base for the rest of your make-up application. But yes, of course, you needn’t have to pay more than $11 if you buy L’Oreal Paris True Match. Available in 33 shades and microfine pearls to diffuse imperfections, this foundation is perfect for a college-goer.

5)      Again, I have to mention ELF Studio’s Endless Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Palette. Oh my God, you guys. For $10, this is just a dream for anyone looking for a superior product, shopping on a budget. You’ll love the variety of colors coupled with the fact that it is offers good pigmentation and is very easy to apply. A definite must-have, if you ask me!

These are my top five picks for a back to school beauty kit for a college goer on a budget. So hurry up! Add ‘em to your beauty kit NOW!
