Glock & Mr8bit's Musical Blog

Local resident shares original composition. 60s surf to ease your work.

Hello Enfield Patch!  My name is Mr8bit.  I am one half of the musical duo, Glock & Mr8bit.  I have been a resident of Enfield for over a decade and a musician for twice as long.  My collaborator, Glock, has been making music with me for twenty years (man, that makes me feel old.) We've been in quite a few bands together; some moderately successful, most not-at-all successful.  Through it all, though, we have been extremely grateful for the creative outlet our collaborations have afforded us.

Recently, we have found a sort of niche composing soundtracks for indie video games.  And that's what the focus of this blog is going to be: our sometimes strange, sometimes frustrating journey through the world of video game soundtrack composition.

So let's start this thing off right!  For our first blog post, we present the surf track Procrastination.  We made this during a recent (much needed) break between soundtrack work.  It's a 60s surf song with some odd instrumentation.  We blended guitar, Rhodes, various synths and drums to make a classic sound that is both familiar and unconventional at the same time.  We had so much fun making it that we are considering doing even more surf tracks in the future.

Anyway, hope you all enjoy it.  No better way to start November than a sunny song to keep you warm.  Thanks for listening!
