Taimoni Knighton has the opportunity to go to South Africa and is raising money via the GoFundMe Web site.
According to the page on GoFundMe, earlier this year, Knighton participated in an essay contest to determine eligibility to attend a trip to South Africa. She was picked.
The page states, "During this trip, I will be participating in workshops to help resolve the conflict between Zimbabwean refugees and South African citizens. I will also be comparing colorism (discrimination based on skin color) in South Africa to America and the effects it has on the citizens of these countries. I can't express how blessed I am to have this opportunity."
So far, $280 has been raised. To donate to the cause, visit the GoFundMe page.
