Scantic River Watershed Annual Meeting

The General Public and the members of the watershed are invited to the 9th Annual Meeting of the Scantic River Watershed Association on Thursday November 8th at the Enfield Senior Center at 6:00pm located on 299 Elm Street in Enfield CT.  

A special guest appearance of Colonel Augustus Hazard a founding member of the  SRWA and a local entrepreneur  will give a talk on the History of the Hazard Powder Company which will include pictures of many of the mill buildings, first person descriptions of the aftermath of the numerous explosions, and he will have his collection of his Hazard Powder Company artifacts to view.

An update on the Scantic River Greenway Trails and the river monitoring program will also highlight the evening.
