The dress has been named after the flapper women who used to wear different type of costumes than Gibson Girls. They used to wrap up the upper part of the body with tight fitting clothes to flatten the chest portion as they believed that this symbolize great personality. The lower part or the waist portion of the costume was drooped up to hipline. This unique style were then adopted by women of other creed and cast to show their status and personality. The dress became quite popular during 1920's but the skirt style dress was widely used by women during 1925. A flapper dress that is skirt style never is longer than knee length and good to use as formal costume.

The Flatters Flapper:

The flatter shaped flapper dresses are regarded by women as classic because these fit in all body types. This flapper dress is often loose fit and come with a drop waist. The typically designed dresses always combine wide or thin strap and spaghetti. Bodice used in the clothes are like tubes, which are short and straight. Headlines are used to show off those long legs properly and the hems end above knee that gives it a stunning look. Such dresses are best to embellish with fringe and sequins.
