On May 13, 2013, stylists and guests at more than 180 Supercuts salons throughout Boston and Greater New England took part in the Boston Strong Celeste-A-Thon, a benefit for Celeste Corcoran and her daughter Sydney, who were both severely injured in the Boston Marathon bombings. Supercuts, with a matching donation from parent company Regis Corporation, donated $20,000 to the Celeste and Sydney Recovery Fund.
Celeste-A-Thon was organized by EMERGE Spa and Salon, where Celeste is a hairstylist. In addition to Supercuts, more than 20 Boston area salons participated in the one-day event and raised $121,000.
“On behalf of all the participating franchised and corporate Supercuts salons, we are proud to have been involved with the Celeste-A-Thon,” said Bostonian and Supercuts franchisee Mark Muscatello. “We want to thank our stylists and guests, and our parent company Regis Corporation, who helped us support Celeste and Sydney.”
For those who weren’t able to participate in Celeste-A-Thon, but would like to help Celeste and Sydney, donations can be sent to the Celeste & Sydney Fund at Enterprise Bank at 1120 Main Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876, or online at the Celeste and Sydney Recovery Fund at GoFundMe.com.
